Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ALHAMBRA - A juvenile and three adults were arrested January 5, allegedly caught with more than $2500 worth of products taken from a CVS pharmacy.
The suspects fled CVS on Valley Boulevard, but officers located their vehicle westbound on Ramona towards Elm Street. It entered the westbound I-10 freeway and officers conducted a traffic stop at the Soto Street exit in Los Angeles, according to the Alhambra Police Department. After discovering the more than $2500 worth of products inside of the vehicle, officers learned the suspects allegedly committed the same crime in Monterey Park, according to the Alhambra Police Department. Eric Johnson, a 33-year-old Los Angeles man, Antoine Dewayne Martin, a 20-year-old Canoga Park man, Kamoriana Diamond Wilks, an 18-year-old Lancaster woman and a female juvenile were arrested. The three adult suspects were all booked and released, according to Los Angeles County booking records. The fate of the juvenile is not publicly known. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ALHAMBRA – Theft suspects from an Alhambra Target store could not outrun a helicopter tracking them as they fled on the I-10 freeway and as they fled on foot Monday.
The unnamed trio are accused of thieving $1,000 in goods from Target, 2120 W. Main St. January 4. Police were called at 9:30 p.m. to find the thieves who were already fleeing in a vehicle, according to the Alhambra Police Department. Patrol officers located the fleeing vehicle at Fremont Street and Poplar Boulevard. The driver refused to stop, according to the Alhambra Police Department. A pursuit took to Los Angeles and nearby freeways. Alhambra officers pursued the suspects on the I-10 freeway as far as Santa Anita Avenue until they decided to allow a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s helicopter to safely track the suspects from the air. The suspects fled east at high speed as far as Hacienda Heights after merging onto the 60 freeway. They quickly fled back west. The driver stopped after exiting the westbound 60 freeway at Potrero Grande Drive in Monterey Park. All three suspects began their escape on foot, but surrendered as the helicopter and Monterey Park Police officers descended on them. A 21-year-old man from Los Angeles, a 24-year-old man from Long Beach and a 22-year-old woman from Los Angeles were booked on suspicion of robbery, felony evading and for outstanding warrants on previous crimes committed, according to the Alhambra Police Department. The suspects, four juveniles and one adult, were stopped as they fled on the I-10 freeway in Rosemead. Stolen property from a Monterey Park home was discovered, Alhambra Police said. One of the suspects approached a home in the 2500 block of South Whitney around 1:56 p.m. and knocked loudly on the front door. The suspect peered into a window and then jumped a fence into the backyard, Alhambra Police said. A resident or neighbor confronted the suspect who fled into a waiting vehicle that sped away. Searching Alhambra officers located the vehicle on the Interstate 10 freeway in Rosemead and stopped the vehicle, eventually taking all suspects into custody. Arrested was Elijah Brown, an 18-year-old Hemet man. The names and ages of the four juveniles will not be released, Alhambra Police said. All five suspects were arrested on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy charges, Alhambra Police said. |
