Three men approached the victim at 2nd Avenue and La Sierra Drive around 8:55 p.m. The victim was struck an undisclosed amount of times. The suspects threatened to shoot the victim if he did not relinquish the cash, according to an Arcadia Police crime broadcast. One suspect is a Hispanic man in his 20s in dark clothing, dark baseball hat and dark jeans. The second and third suspects are also Hispanic men in their 20s. They also wore dark clothing. The suspects fled north on 2nd Avenue and east on Duarte Road in a possible dark-colored Toyota Corolla Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - Nothing was found after police received a false call of an armed man near a middle school Tuesday morning.
The call, made at 8:15 a.m., came through a payphone and stated a man was seen carrying a weapon on Santa Anita Avenue in the vicinity of First Avenue Middle School, 301 S. First Ave., according to Lt. Whalen Vaughn of the Arcadia Police Department. The school was locked down as a precaution and searched, although the caller never said the armed man was on the campus, Vaughn said. The precautionary lockdown was lifted, according to a statement by the Arcadia Unified School District. The woman was assaulted while walking in the 2300 block of Santa Anita Avenue at 8:42 p.m. September 8. The woman was able to provide detectives a composite sketch, Arcadia Police said. The suspect fled on a silver or metal-color BMX-style bicycle. The suspect is a Hispanic man in his mid 20’s, stands 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 140 to 150 pounds, has a shaved head, a long nose, a distinct crossed left eye and wore a light-colored t-shirt and dark shorts. The suspect sported a neck tattoo resembling growing plant vines, Arcadia Police said. Anyone with information on the suspect is urged to call the Arcadia Police Department at 626-574-515 and reference case number 18-4073. The burglary was reported just before 12:30 p.m. August 29. The three women entered the store, 733 W. Naomi Ave., and took multiple purses. The total value was nearly $30,000, according to the Arcadia Police Department. The women fled in a waiting Chevrolet Cruz. All three suspects are Black women approximately 25 years old. |
