The robbery occurred at 420 N. Santa Anita Ave. sometime after 10:30 p.m. August 29. One of the suspects was armed with what appeared to be a black semiautomatic handgun, according to Arcadia Police radio traffic. Three suspects fled on foot north to an apartment complex at 21 E. Colorado Blvd. where they jumped a fence to nearby Newman Avenue. A fourth suspect escaped into a gold Lincoln SUV which was driven south on Santa Anita Avenue, according to Arcadia Police radio traffic. All four suspects were described as Latino males ranging from 14 to 15 years old. One suspect appeared 15 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 150 pounds and has short black hair with a heart shaved into the back of his head. He wore a black polo and black pants. A second suspect appeared 15 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 130 pounds and has short black hair in a bowl cut. He wore silver earrings, a black Ralph Lauren hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and black shoes. Suspect three appeared 15 years old with black puffy hair. No other description was available. The fourth suspect appeared 14 years old. He wore a blue cap. No other description was available. At least five suspects reportedly took high-priced perfumes from Macy’s at the Shops at Santa Anita, 400 S. Baldwin Ave. Officers were called to the Macy’s just after 1:10 p.m. August 22. The suspects were decked out in hoodies and face masks, piling stolen merchandise into bags, while shoppers and employees looked on. The robbery video was shared on the Citizen App. The suspects fled in a black sedan. The officer shot the woman in the upper torso after she pulled a kitchen knife tucked in her pocket, raised it above her shoulders and advanced toward the Officer, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau. Arcadia. Police officers were called to a report of a person armed with a knife around 9:09 p.m. Saturday, August 12. The mother of the suspect called on her own daughter. During the investigation, the suspect was seen exiting the location. She re-entered that location only to exit one more time and she began advancing towards the officer. “The officer ordered the disturbing party to show her hands. She kept advancing toward the officer, and at one point, removed a kitchen knife from her pocket. She then began running toward the officer with the knife raised above her shoulders, holding it in a stabbing position. At this time, an officer-involved shooting occurred,” according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau in a written statement. Officers rendered medical aid to the suspect until paramedics, arrived to continue treatment and transported her to a nearby hospital. Police said a burglary occurred at a residence in the 00 block of West Wistaria just before 2:53 p.m. Two vehicles were seen fleeing the neighborhood. One vehicle was abandoned near Sierra Madre Villa and the 210 freeway where four suspects fled on foot, but were arrested, according to the Arcadia Police Department. A second vehicle fled onto the west 210 freeway. It made it all the way to East Los Angeles where one suspect was arrested, according to the Arcadia Police Department. Arrested were:

An unidentified caller phoned the Arcadia Police Department at 3:18 p.m. February 21 and said he was at the high school and was going to shoot people. No one was found, according to the Arcadia Police Department. Students were released under the supervision of police officers after the campus was secured, and the lockdown was lifted. The male suspect is accused of swinging an axe at someone unprovoked around 8:49 a.m. January 7. The victim fled and contacted police who were directed to an electrical storage room where both suspects apparently broke into and were living in, according to the Arcadia Police Department. Logan Mychal Rachman, 42, of Arcadia and Stephanie Rose Ernst, 32, of La Verne, were arrested. Amongst the charges are burglary and assault with a deadly weapon. Rachman is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail. Ernst is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail in the Century Regional Detention Facility. Both are scheduled to appear in Pasadena Municipal Court Tuesday, January 10. Both suspects, 30-year-old Rosemead man Dan Lopez and 38-year-old Tao Mach of Diamond Bar, were detained during a traffic stop after officers were alerted that the vehicle the suspects were in had entered the city, according to the Arcadia Police Department. Officers were alerted to the vehicle entering the city at 4:06 a.m. December 23. Both suspects were booked on a variety of charges, according to the Arcadia Police Department. Officers discovered the items during a traffic stop in the area of Camino Real Avenue and Santa Anita Avenue. The traffic stop was conducted around 3:14 p.m. December 22. Arcadia Police detectives and a local task force investigated the vehicle, tied to a previous burglary, and a second vehicle, believing an additional burglary occurred. “Officers later attempted to locate the additional burglary, but they were unsuccessful. During a search of both vehicles, a burglary tool seen on video from yesterday’s burglary, and suspected stolen property, were found. Additionally, unique clothing tied to another burglary was located,” according to the Arcadia Police Department in a written statement. Given the evidence discovered, detectives believed the suspects intended on committing another burglary. Officers attempted to stop the U-Haul seen leaving the area of a burglary alarm call in the 11000 block of Clark Street December 17 around 3 a.m., according to the Arcadia Police Department. “Officers conducted their initial investigation and discovered property from the victim business, a sledge hammer, bolt cutters, and flashlights,” according to the Arcadia Police Department in a written statement. A West Covina man and a Los Angeles man were both arrested. Amongst the charges are commercial burglary, evading a peace officer and possession of burglary tools. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA – An Oxnard man already on probation for robbery was put behind bars December 9 after fleeing officers with a stolen package in tow and attempted to steal a vehicle after breaking into a resident’s home in North Hollywood.
The package, unbeknownst to the suspect, was a bait package featuring a hidden GPS device that alerted officers. The package was taken from the 200 block of East Magna Vista Avenue around 3:13 p.m., according to the Arcadia Police Department. Officers tracked the suspect’s movements through multiple cities. A brief pursuit was initiated into Burbank, but the chase was cancelled after the reckless suspect crashed into another vehicle and continued to flee, according to the Arcadia Police Department. A police helicopter was used to track the suspect into North Hollywood where he collided with two parked vehicles. He fled on foot. “While fleeing, the suspect entered a home in the 6600 block of Lernay Street in North Hollywood. He confronted the resident inside, stole car keys, and ran from the home,” according to the Arcadia Police Department in a written statement. “The suspect attempted to steal a vehicle parked on the street but was unsuccessful.” Residents chased the suspect who continued to run. He hid in a rear yard in the 6600 block of Morella Avenue in North Hollywood where officers arrested the suspect without further incident. A search of the suspect’s vehicle revealed the bait package and multiple other pieces of stolen property. He was booked on suspicion of grand theft, evading a peace officer, burglary attempted vehicle theft, hit and run and for multiple outstanding warrants. The suspect, an Oxnard man, was held in lieu of $360,000 bail. |
