The teen is recovering and is in stable condition at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, according to Sgt. David Cortinas of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The incident occurred around 12:16 p.m. at the high school, 401 Nogales St. Firefighters were dispatched to a reported unconscious patient and transported the victim, according to a representative with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. How the boy tried to kill himself was not immediately known. The shooting took place in the 16700 block of Wing Lane around before 9:30 p.m. There were at least two suspects seen fleeing the location, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station crime broadcast. It is unclear if there was more than one gunman. The suspects, described as Hispanic males, 250 pounds each and wearing black t-shirts, fled in a westbound on Wing Lane towards Valinda Avenue in two cars, a white, late model, four-door Toyota Camry and a second, possibly dark-colored vehicle. The victim, described as a gang member, wound up at a nearby hospital and refused to provide details on the suspects, only telling deputies about a dark-colored vehicle involved, deputies said. The victim was found shot in the 14700 block of Nelson Avenue just before 3:30 p.m., according to Dispatch Supervisor Melanie Flores of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. It is unclear where the suspect was actually shot, but he was found on Nelson Avenue, according to Sgt. Enriquez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The victim, described as a male Hispanic, was the only victim found hit, Enriquez said. Deputies at the scene found .45-caliber shell casings and a bullet hole in the wall of a home, according to Industry Sheriff’s Station radio traffic. A suspect description was unavailable. The victim was shot at least once outside his residence in the 200 block of North 2ndStreet around 7:13 p.m. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he is listed in grave condition, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Initial reports from the scene indicated the victim was shot in the head by a suspect or suspects who attacked the location once before. A drive-by shooting allegedly occurred at the home previously, but the timeframe for the first shooting was not disclosed. A relative of the victim believes the suspects came back to, according to Sheriff's radio traffic. The shooting may be gang related. Although the Sheriff’s Information Bureau stated the unknown suspects fled in a sedan of unknown color, a black car was seen fleeing the scene, according to Sheriff’s radio traffic. A black Mercedes-Benz was involved in the previous shooting.
