The shooting occurred at Temple Avenue and League Avenue around 10:50 p.m. Friday, February 2. The vehicle that fled the location eastbound was described as an older-model four-door Honda. Only one suspect described is a male Hispanic, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s crime broadcast. The extent of injuries to the victim are not immediately known. Deputies initially believe this shooting is not gang-related. LA PUENTE - A shooting between two men at a La Puente strip mall Saturday ended with one man dying after being hospitalized. Investigators revealed that the fatal victim, a 26-year-old man, and his adversary exchanged gunfire after the victim exited a store at the strip mall in the 13900 block of Amar Road April 24. While the Sheriff’s Information Bureau continues to state that the shooting took place at 6:53 p.m., Sgt. Shackleford of the Sheriff’s Industry Station stated that the first call of the shooting came in at 5:58 p.m. Dispatch information from the Los Angeles County Fire Department corroborated the earlier response time, with firefighters being dispatched at 6 p.m. “Investigators learned that the victim exited a store inside of the strip mall and was immediately assaulted by another male Hispanic. They engaged in a shoot-out and the victim was struck. He was immediately transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead,” according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau in a written statement. The suspect is reportedly unknown at this time. A gun was recovered at the scene, 1616 Griffith Ave. Deputies and firefighters were called ot the scene just after 9 a.m. November 9. The man was described as being between 25 to 30 years old, according to Lt. James Long of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. A janitor discovered the body. As many as five children were on the closed campus, likely there with employees who were working at the school. Everyone was locked down during the response, Long told SGV CityWatch. Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are trying to link this death to call of a man firing a gun nearby at Mullender Avenue and Atwood Street around 10:10 p.m. November 8. The suspect from the Sunday shooting was seen fleeing southbound from Mullender and Atwood. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau is investigating. The structure burned at 13347 E. Temple Ave., around 7:30 a.m. The three-story plywood structure was vacant and under construction, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Investigators were called to determine the cause. The shooting was reported around 3:30 p.m. in the 14500 block of Valley Blvd., April 7. Deputies called firefighters and asked them to wait before entering the scene. At 3:35 p.m., deputies canceled the request for firefighters after a victim could not be found, according to Cheryl Sims, dispatch supervisor for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Deputies did locate at least three spent shell casings during their search for a victim, according to Sgt. Itani of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The contents fire burned inside a single-story, single-family home in the 15000 block of East Ragus and was reported at 6:53 a.m. March 1, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Cheryl Sims. One patient was found in full arrest, according to firefighters at the scene.
The patient was later declared deceased. A Sheriff’s homicide detective will be sent to the scene to investigate the death, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Firefighters were dispatched to the 17300 block of Main Street near Azusa Way just before 6 p.m. Firefighters were told of a victim who fell 20 feet from an apartment unit, according to Dispatch Supervisor Cheryl Sims of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The victim is a 2-year-old child, according to Lt. Torres of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station.
Industry deputies worked to block streets for a clear path to Peter F. Schabarum Regional Park where a Los Angeles County Fire helicopter airlifted the child by about 6:24 p.m. to County/USC Medical Center. Alejandra Hernandez, 24, was named by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. She died at a residence. Her city of residence, however, was not listed. An autopsy has yet to be scheduled.

The teen is recovering and is in stable condition at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, according to Sgt. David Cortinas of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The incident occurred around 12:16 p.m. at the high school, 401 Nogales St. Firefighters were dispatched to a reported unconscious patient and transported the victim, according to a representative with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
