Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA PUENTE – A suspect armed with a four-inch knife escaped in a waiting vehicle after reportedly stabbing a victim in the arm Sunday afternoon.
The assault with a deadly weapon occurred near 17301 Valley Blvd. just after 4:30 p.m. July 24. The armed suspect exited a black older-model Hyundai SUV and stabbed his victim once in the left arm, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s radio broadcast. Sgt. Smith of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station is unaware of any arrests and is unsure of a motive for the crime. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, Smith told SGV CityWatch. The suspect was described to deputies as a Hispanic man around 35 years old. He was described as heavy set, stood 5 feet 6 inches, wore a black shirt and black shorts, according to the radio broadcast. The Hyundai SUV was driven away by another heavy-set Hispanic man. The attack occurred outside 1601 Hacienda Blvd. Wednesday. The suspect approached the victim, squared off in preparation to fight and that is when the stabbing occurred, according to Sgt. Kline of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. “The suspect used a silver object to slice the victim during the fight. The victim is uncooperative and refused to provide additional details,” Kline told SGV CityWatch. “The victim sustained a laceration under his jaw and a laceration to his hand.” A description for the suspect was not available. The victim would not provide a suspect description other than that he is a male Hispanic in his 30s, Kline told SGV CityWatch. The stabbing unfolded in the area of Amar Road and Sunset Avenue around 8:53 p.m. January 2. Deputies arrived to the scene of the stabbing and while the suspect was being detained, he allegedly stabbed himself in the chest, according to Sgt. Macias of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. “It was a domestic conflict between boyfriend and boyfriend,” Macias told SGV CityWatch.
The suspect was transported in critical condition. The severity of the wound to the victim was not immediately known. “The victim and the suspect in the stabbing are going to live,” Macias told SGV CityWatch. The stabbing occurred inside Domino’s, 1073 N. Hacienda Blvd. Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry station responded to a reported assault with a deadly weapon call at 5:59 p.m. The suspect was detained last night, pending further investigation and it is not immediately known if the suspect was arrested. The knife allegedly used in the stabbing was recovered. A man was found suffering from at least one stab wound to the upper body. The man was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead, according to detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau. “Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was involved in a physical altercation with the suspect, both whom were employees at the location. During the course of the physical altercation, the suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim,” homicide detectives said. The investigation is ongoing.
