Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor LA PUENTE - Gunfire erupted Saturday and an unintended victim was hit during the exchange, deputies said.
The shooting took place in the 500 block of Leverette Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Rounds were exchanged between two people, according to Lt. Rick Rector of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. A woman in her 50s, a bystander to the shooting, was struck and hospitalized in stable condition. No one directly involved in the shooting was detained or arrested, Rector said. While Rector did not have a description of suspects handy, a Sheriff’s crime broadcast revealed a female driver described as Hispanic, about 20 years old and she wore a white tank top. The shooter is a Hispanic man also in his 20s and stood 5 feet 6 inches tall. He wore a black shirt, black hat and black shorts. The suspects fled in a white 2013 Honda Accord west on Main Street. |
