Montebello police officers were called to the river bed just behind the Grant Rea Park, 600 Rea Dr., around 5:17 p.m. July 18 on a report of gunfire. First responders located the man who was taken to a hospital where he died, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Montebello officers were called to investigate a gunshot victim in the 8100 block of Slauson Avenue around 3:12 p.m. August 22. The victim, only described as a Hispanic man, was found wounded between two motorhomes. He was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The murder weapon remains outstanding. Police arrived to the scene in the 1300 block of South Greenwood Avenue around 7:50 p.m. and found the victim. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau are investigating the shooting.

MONTEBELLO - Police are looking for information leading to the person or persons responsible for the shooting death of a man found shot near a playground April 21. Randall Fletcher, 22, was found with a gunshot wound to the back of head, down on the grass near the playground at Ashiya Park, 2700 W. Beverly Blvd., around 4:30 p.m. Fletcher was hospitalized, but later succumbed to his injuries. It is unclear if detectives have any suspect information.
