Aaron James Macias, 36, is accused of multiple armed robberies in Montebello, Monterey Park and in Los Angeles. During those crimes a .45-caliber handgun was fired, according to the Montebello Police Department. Several victims helped investigators identify Macias and his vehicle, a white four-door sedan. Macias is being held at the North County Correctional Facility in Castaic in lieu of $350,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Los Angeles Municipal Court February 16. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor MONTEBELLO - Police pursued a high-speed, blood-stained vehicle through surface streets into County/USC Medical Center Saturday morning, later realizing the driver was transporting someone who was shot.
The shooting took place in the parking lot of Mariscos El Bravo, 1125 Washington Blvd., sometime after 1 a.m. A woman transported the shooting victim from the restaurant to County/USC Medical Center where the victim is being treated, according to Lt. Boris Zeissig of the Montebello Police Department. The relationship between the victim and the driver is not immediately known. Detectives are continuing to search for witnesses to the shooting, as well as surveillance footage from nearby businesses, Zeissig said. While Zeissig did not have an update on the victim’s condition, he said hospital staff have not alerted Montebello Police if a death occurred. A Montebello officer on patrol attempted to pull over a vehicle he said had a large amount of blood on a passenger door near Beverly Boulevard and Margaret Avenue, according to Montebello Police radio traffic. The driver sped along surface streets, running red lights through East Los Angeles and Los Angeles, eventually being followed by East Los Angeles Deputies as well as Montebello Police. Once the driver stopped at the emergency room entrance to County/USC, officers realized the driver was transporting a shooting victim, Montebello Police said.
