Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor MONTEBELLO - Heads up, Montebello! A DUI/driver license checkpoint is scheduled for Friday, April 20.
The checkpoint will operate in an undisclosed area, based on collision statistics and frequency of DUI collisions. The checkpoint will begin Friday at 7 p.m. and conclude Saturday at 3 a.m., Montebello Police said. “Research shows that crashes involving an impaired driver can be reduced by up to 20 percent when well-publicized proactive DUI operations are conducted routinely,” Montebello Police said. Funding for this checkpoint is provided to Montebello Police Department by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. |
