Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor MONTEREY PARK - The remaining burglary suspect sought by Monterey Park officers was located after search warrants were executed in Rosemead and San Gabriel.
Carlos Antonio Estrada, a 43-year-old Rosemead man, was arrested August 14 in San Gabriel as part of an ongoing investigation into an August 10 commercial burglary in Monterey Park. Lei Gao, a 36-year-old San Gabriel man was arrested August 13, according to Sgt. Rick Munder of the Monterey Park Police Department. The Commercial burglary was committed in the 500 block of West Garvey Avenue. An additional search warrant was served at an additional location in Rosemead, Munder said. Both Gao and Estrada were booked on suspicion of commercial burglary. Yesterday’s police activity on New Avenue between Valley Boulevard and the I-10 freeway was related to the investigation and search warrant execution. Gao is being held in lieu of $145,000 bail, while Estrada is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. Gao is scheduled for an appearance in Alhambra Superior Court August 15, while Estrada is set to appear August 16. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor MONTEREY PARK - Three men were arrested during a traffic stop August 7 after officers discovered evidence in a fresh home burglary.
The three men were stopped by an officer for a traffic violation at Crest Vista Drive and Brightwood Street around 10:30 a.m. A separate home burglary investigation was being conducted nearby in the 1200 block of West Crest Vista Drive, Monterey Park Police said in a written statement. “The officer located evidence at the scene of the burglary that linked the three occupants of the vehicle stopped at Crest Vista and Brightwood to the residential burglary,” Monterey Park Police said. After further investigation, Tony Dieson Johnson, 23, Jerry Ronnie Green, 27 and Antonio Maurice Sutton, 19, were all booked on suspicion of burglary. All three men have prior burglary arrests, Monterey Park Police said. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed burglary charges against all three men August 9 and all three men have since appeared in Alhambra Superior Court. |
