All westbound lanes of the 60 freeway at San Gabriel Boulevard remain closed until further notice. All traffic is being diverted off at Rosemead Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol. Firefighters were dispatched to the 3100 block of Charlotte Avenue Tuesday, February 14 at 2:01 p.m. to a fire in the rear of a single-story duplex. The fire was knocked down at 2:33 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. A County Fire dispatch supervisor had very few details about the patient, only stating that the male was being worked on by paramedics at the scene. The man was wounded in the 2100 block of San Gabriel Boulevard October 19. He was reportedly taken to a hospital for treatment, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The man’s condition is not publicly known. What sparked the deputy or deputies to open fire is not immediately known. The female clerk was shot once at Kev’s Liquor, 9442 Valley Blvd., around 6:20 p.m. and was last listed in critical condition, according to Lt. Liu of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. The suspect rifled through a cash register, but it is not known what the suspect possibly fled with, Liu told SGV CityWatch. There is no suspect, or vehicle description available. The woman was discovered deceased at the scene June 25, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Temple Station were sent to an alley behind a retail center on Garvey Avenue around 3:11 p.m. and found a woman down and unresponsive. The apparent cause of the woman’s death has yet to be revealed. No other information is available. Authorities have all eastbound and westbound lanes stopped. A mental evaluation team from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is en route via helicopter to assist in helping the teen surrender. The teen is standing on the San Gabriel Boulevard overpass, according to Officer Elizabeth Kravig of the CHP.
California Highway Patrol officers were called to the San Gabriel Boulevard overpass just after 6 p.m. August 17 to a report of a pedestrian climbing the fence to the overpass. Drivers stopped and attempted to prevent the teen from climbing over, according to the CHP. The teen is reportedly refusing to speak with a male officer and wants only to speak with a woman, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s radio traffic. Sheriff’s deputies with the Temple Station, CHP officers, Los Angeles County firefighters and Montebello Police are on scene. The shooting took place in the 8800 block of Marshall Street around 9:27 p.m. The victim was transported to an area trauma center for treatment, according to Dispatch Supervisor Miguel Ornelas of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The victim’s wounds are not considered life-threatening, according to Lt. Frank Ruiz of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. The suspect was hiding in a yard in the 7900 block of Emerson Place. He fled deputies on foot for several blocks before they found him at the dead end of Whitmore Street west of San Gabriel Boulevard at 12:05 p.m., according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s radio traffic. Deputies are requesting medics for the suspect detained in the 8000 block of Whitmore Street. Details are few, but the man detained is described as a burglary suspect.
A woman and child were occupying the vehicle the suspect hit. Firefighters are on scene treating the patients, deputies said. No further information is available. |
