Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor SAN GABRIEL - The county coroner has yet to publicly identify the 59-year-old woman and 1-year-old girl killed after being hit by a Chevrolet pickup truck on a dark San Gabriel street Friday night.
The driver of a dark or midnight blue Chevy S10 Xtreme pickup truck hit the woman who was pushing her granddaughter in a stroller in a marked crosswalk at Live Oak Street and Del Mar Avenue, according to the San Gabriel Police Department. The pickup featured an extended cab, chrome rims and rear window tint. The truck should have considerable damage concentrated on the right front side, San Gabriel Police said. The collision occurred around 9:35 p.m. Friday, October 26. Images from the scene painted a tragic picture: personal items strewn across the road, including a stroller. The grandmother and child were taken to an area trauma center where they later died. Anyone with information on the suspect is urged to call the San Gabriel Police Department at 626-308-2828. |
