The 70-year-old woman was struck just after 6 a.m. on Los Robles Avenue and Oak Street February 1. She was crossing Los Robles and was hit by an unknown vehicle, according to the San Marino Police Department. The driver reportedly did not stop to provide help, or identify themselves, according to the San Marino Police Department. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor SAN MARINO - Three females were jailed Thursday, the driver still outstanding after officers spotted and chased a stolen vehicle.
Police attempted to stop a stolen vehicle after receiving an alert on westbound Huntington Drive from Oak Knoll Avenue just before 2 p.m. the driver sped away and continued to drive at an unsafe speed when officers ended the chase, according to the San Marino Police Department. Moments later, a caller reported a similar-looking vehicle crashed on Huntington Drive at Pasqualito Drive. Officers found the vehicle abandoned. Witnesses reported three females and one other suspect running along Pasqualito Drive and took refuge in the rear yard of a home in the 1400 block, according to the San Marino Police Department. A containment search involving officers from the San Marino, Pasadena, South Pasadena, Alhambra Police departments, including an Arcadia Police K9 and Pasadena Police helicopter helped to locate the three females. The male, described as being 18-20 years old and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, eluded capture. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor SAN MARINO - Two 17-year-old drivers were arrested July 4 accused of taking part in a brief street race that killed a man walking his dog. The crash occurred around 10:38 a.m. Thursday on Huntington Drive near Kenilworth Avenue. The westbound vehicles were racing when a white Mercedes was struck by the other racing car, cut across lanes of traffic and hit the man and dog on a median, according to San Marino Fire and San Marino Police.
The man was tossed 30 feet. The dog was sent 60 feet. Both died at the scene, San Marino Police said. The girlfriend of the man killed was about 100 feet behind and witnessed the crash. Both teen drivers are accused of vehicular manslaughter an are being held in juvenile hall. The unidentified woman died at Huntington Memorial Hospital October 29 after she was freed from her heavily damaged vehicle in the area of Lorain Road and Windsor Road around 9:40 a.m., according to the San Marino Police Department. Alhambra firefighters assisted San Marino firefighters in extricating the injured woman. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The Pasadena Police Traffic Collision Investigation Team is assisting San Marino Police with the collision investigation. |
