Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor SOUTH EL MONTE - A suspect fled with about $4,000 in Lottery Scratchers after assaulting employees of a drive-thru dairy Saturday afternoon.
The crime was reported just after 2:30 p.m. at 1603 S. Santa Anita Avenue. The suspect attacked employees with the pepper spray before fleeing with the scratchers, according to Lt. Chris Kusayanagi of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. The business robbed is Driftwood Market. Kusayanagi did not know how many employees were attacked. He didn’t believe any of the employees were hospitalized. Deputies could not obtain a good description of the suspect, because the employees’ vision was compromised. |
