Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor SOUTH PASADENA - A boy described as a high-functioning autistic was reunited with his mother after the boy unlocked the front door and walked away from home, police said. The boy was discovered wandering in the 1400 block of Grevelia Street around 7 p.m. He was gone for a few minutes when a neighbor walking her dog found the boy, according to Sgt. Matthew Ronnie of the South Pasadena Police Department. The neighbor walked the boy to the station, which is roughly one block from where the boy and mother live, Ronnie said.
“The neighbor saw the child’s picture on Facebook and called the mom,” Ronnie said. “She came to the station immediately.” The Department of Child and Family Services spoke with the mother to help provide information on resources for the child. The boy appears to be 3 years old and was found alone around 7 p.m., according to the South Pasadena Police Department.

Edward Ng was discovered in a bathroom at 1500 San Pablo Street Friday morning. Ng was pronounced dead at 5:20 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. The property houses Keck Hospital of USC and Fresenius Medical Care at La County And Usc - Apheresis. A cause of death has not been determined. The Los Angeles Police Department does not suspect foul play in Ng’s death. Ng was last seen at his home around 1 p.m. December 13. He may have taken a ride share service to the County USC/Medical Center area, South Pasadena Police said. The cell phone Ng carried was likely tuned off, South Pasadena Police said. Ng required medical attention, but investigators did not specify his medical needs. Andrew Dart, 45, made phone contact with officers around 2:30 Sunday, August 12. He was removed from the missing persons database as a voluntary missing adult, South Pasadena Police said. Dart’s mother, Pamela Dart, was notified of his status. Dart reportedly suffers from bipolar disorder. Dart was reported missing July 21. His departure set off searches by friends and family in the Pasadena area, near locations he normally frequents. |
