Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LOS ANGELES - Officials have identified the man and woman who were gunned down January 25 inside an Alhambra apartment unit.
Cuong Nhat Do, a 44-year-old man, and Camha Nguyen Do, a 38-year-old woman, were identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. They both resided in Anaheim. The murder suspect was identified as 42-year-old Sam Nhat Do of Alhambra. He was booked on suspicion of murder and is being held in lieu of $2 million bail. A man and woman were found suffering gunshot wounds in the 400 block of North Second Street around 7:13 p.m. January 24. CPR was performed on the victims, but they died at the scene. Their deaths were pronounced at 7:26 p.m., according to Alhambra Police radio traffic. Sam Nhat Do stopped an officer en route to the crime scene and reportedly told the officer he killed two people. He also told the officer where to find the weapon used in the killing, according to Alhambra Police radio traffic. With the aid of a helicopter equipped with an infrared camera, a handgun was found near the crime scene. The suspect also spoke of a discarded and loaded gun clip, but it is not known if it was found. A motive in the killings is either unknown or has not been shared publicly. Sam Nhat Do is scheduled to appear in court January 28. |
