CityWatch Editor LOS ANGELES - Investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating the man they say is responsible for the shooting of an Arcadia father inside his own home March 11. Chinese National Zehao Lu, 41, shot the 61-year-old victim in the 50 block of Woodland Lane. Lu should be considered armed and dangerous, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. One count of murder, two counts of assault with a semi-automatic handgun and one count of burglary with a person present to commit a felony was filed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. A no bail warrant with an extradition order was issued March 13. A 43-year-old woman and her 13-year-old son arrived to their Woodland Lane home just before 6:30 p.m. and were confronted by Lu in the driveway. He forced them into their home where a confrontation occurred with the 61-year-old victim, Yijian Zhang. Lu shot Zhang and fled the location, according to the Sheriff’s Department. The teen somehow suffered scratches to his head and the deck. The mother was unharmed. Zhang was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital where he died. An apparent dispute between Zhang and Lu resulted in the deadly confrontation, according to Arcadia Police Chief Roy Nakamura. “Our deepest sympathies go out to the victim's family during this incredibly difficult time. While this targeted act of violence has deeply affected us all, we want to assure the community that Arcadia remains a safe place to live and work,” Nakamura said in a written statement. Anyone with information leading to Lu’s location is urged to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Remain anonymous by calling LA Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), through the P3Tips mobile app, or lacrimestoppers.org. Written by AARON CASTREJON
