ARCADIA - Car club enthusiasts crowded, blocked and drove recklessly on Arcadia roads early Sunday before speeding off on a nearby freeway.
Police responded to the area of Duarte Road and Baldwin Avenue around 1:20 a.m. regarding numerous vehicles “obstructing the intersection and driving recklessly,” said Sgt. Tony Juarez of the Arcadia Police Department.
Officers dispersed the large crowd, which fled north on Baldwin Avenue and onto the eastbound 210 freeway where the drivers briefly impeded traffic before finally moving, Juarez said.
Arcadia detectives still investigating the “takeover” encourage anyone with information on the incident to call Arcadia Police at 626-574-5151. Information can be provided anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
