AZUSA - Four suspects in a stolen vehicle were arrested Friday night after leading Azusa Police on a three-minute chase into Covina.
The unidentified suspects were taken into custody at East Calora Street and North Grand Avenue November 8. A handgun tossed by a suspect was recovered, as well as a second handgun found in the vehicle, according to Sgt. Nick Covarrubias of the Azusa Police Department.
The suspects fled an officer attempting a traffic stop in the area of North Alameda Avenue and East Second Street around 9:44 p.m. The driver reportedly committed a traffic violation, Covarrubias said.
The driver fled at high speed and ran red lights during the brief chase, which took several side streets before terminating.
The suspects, all males, were taken into custody without further incident. One suspect was also in possession of an illegal knife, Covarrubias said.
The handgun tossed from the vehicle stolen, which was reported in Azusa November 7, was found at North Grand Avenue and Arrow Highway, Covarrubias said.
The underage suspect was taken to a juvenile hall.
The names of the adult suspects have yet to be publicly released.
