CityWatch Editor BALDWIN PARK - A woman walking in freeway lanes was struck and killed by a driver who fled the scene of the crash Wednesday. An unknown vehicle struck the woman who was walking northbound across the No. 1 lane of the westbound I-10 freeway west of White Avenue around 3:18 a.m. The woman was propelled into the No. 2 lane where another driver hit her, according to the CHP. The woman died at the scene. She has yet to be identified publicly. The second driver, who was behind the wheel of a 2006 GMC Savana, stayed at the scene. Westbound freeway lanes were closed just before 4 a.m. and were reopened just after 8 a.m. Anyone with information on the hit and run driver is urged to call California Highway Patrol Officer V. CityWatch Editor LOS ANGELES - A 22-year-old man accused of killing a Baldwin Park Police officer, wounding his partner and killing another man has been named. Eduardo Roberto Medina-Berumen was booked on suspicion of two counts of murder. He is in stable condition at a hospital pending transfer to a jail facility, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The shooting reportedly stemmed from a dispute over residential parking, according to ABC 7 Eyewitness News. A housewarming party was underway in the 4200 block of Filhurst Avenue May 31. Medina allegedly confronted the man, who remains publicly unidentified, only described as a Pasadena man in his 40s. When the man didn’t park elsewhere, Medina allegedly shot and killed him. Baldwin Park Police officers Samuel Riveros and Anthony Pimentel went to the scene and were fired upon. Both were struck by gunfire. Riveros would not survive his wounds. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office will soon file charges against Medina. Medina is being held in lieu of $4,000,000 bail. Written by AARON CASTREJON
CityWatch Editor BALDWIN PARK - The 23-year-old suspect accused of stabbing to death family members the day after Christmas was officially charged with three counts of murder. Kyle Chester De Los Reyes Also faces special allegations of using a deadly weapon and committing multiple murders, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Mia Chantelle Narvaez, 8, Paul Sebastian Manangan, 16, and Rona Nate, 44, were named by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. Manangan died from multiple sharp force injuries. Exams have yet to be scheduled for Narvaez and Nate. According to a gofundme fundraiser, Nate was the mother to Narvaez and Manangan. The deaths were discovered in the 4700 block of Bogart Avenue around 6:48 p.m. December 26. De Los Reyes is not only related to all three murder victims, but also resided at the location. He was detained after he crashed while allegedly fleeing the scene. De Los Reyes is being held without bail ahead of a scheduled appearance in Pomona Superior Court January 15, 2025. Mia Chantelle Narvaez, 8, Paul Sebastian Manangan, 16, and Rona Nate, 44, were named by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. A cause of death has not been provided, but initial reports point to a stabbing. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner will reveal the cause of death. The suspect, only identified as a Asian man, was detained at the start of the murder investigation December 26. The suspect is not only related to all three murder victims, but also resided at the location. His exact relation to the victims is not being disclosed at this time, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Drivers reported a pedestrian walking with traffic between the number five lane in the shoulder around 4:15 a.m. Tuesday, December 19. No description of the pedestrian has been given. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner has yet to respond. Zifeng Lu was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. She died from blunt force trauma. The death was ruled accidental. Drugs and alcohol appeared to not play a factor in the crash, which occurred around 6:28 a.m. at Pacific Avenue and Puente Avenue. The rider, a West Covina man in his mid-60s, was westbound when he struck Lu, according to Sgt. David Leon of the Baldwin Park Police Department. Lu died at the scene. She was originally identified as 86 years old. The crash occurred around 6:28 a.m. March 24 at Pacific Avenue and Puente Avenue. The rider, a West Covina man in his mid-60s, was westbound when he struck the 86-year-old woman while she was in a crosswalk, according to Sgt. David Leon of the Baldwin Park Police Department. The fire burned at a home in the 14700 block of Clark Street around 8:55 p.m. January 10. Both women were found unresponsive inside the home and were declared dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. One woman was only described as being in her 50s, the other in her 80s. Investigators are unclear if the fire was intentional. Arson investigators are determining the fire’s cause. Fabian Jamies Davalos, 21, allegedly crashed at an unsafe speed into the rear of a semi that slowed down for traffic on the westbound I-10 freeway west of Pacific Avenue August 28. The passenger was ejected in the crash and died at the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol. The passenger was identified as 19-year-old Dayanna Tamayo. She died from blunt force head trauma, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. The crash occurred around 3 a.m. The driver of a 2021 International A26 was in the No. 4 and began slowing for traffic due to a temporary construction closure affecting the HOV, No. 1 and 2 lanes of the I-10 freeway. Jamies Davalos, in a 2016 Honda Accord, slammed into the back of the International A26, according to the CHP. Jamies Davalos was treated for minor injuries at County/USC Medical Center. The semi’s driver was uninjured. A Sig Alert, issued at 3:41 a.m., affected the HOV, No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 lanes of traffic until 6:15 a.m. |
