Man Shot While Leaving for Work Near Valinda Thursday Night

BASSETT – A man was shot in the back and taken to County/USC Medical Center Thursday night and deputies are searching for the gunman.

The shooting took place in the 700 block of West Millbury Avenue just before 8:30 p.m. As he left his home, the victim was shot by someone that pulled up in a vehicle, according to Sgt. Castellanos of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station.

The victim was hit in his lower right back. He is in stable condition, Castellanos told SGV CityWatch.
Deputies are getting little information from the victim. There is no suspect or vehicle description publicly available.

Deputies are trying to determine any gang affiliation involved in the shooting, Castellanos told SGV CityWatch.
