Firefighters responding to a medical emergency call near Baldwin Park Boulevard and Louden Lane at 9:36 a.m. found the victim unresponsive and not breathing, according to Dispatch Supervisor Art Marrujo of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. CPR was initiated, but the victim was ultimately deemed a long-term death, Marrujo told SGV CityWatch. A supervisor at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station did not have details yet regarding the death investigation and said deputies were still at the scene. The collision occurred around 12:50 p.m. October 6 at South Fullerton Road and East Gale Avenue. The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene, according to Dispatch Supervisor Ed Pickett of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Deputies are investigating if the death was accidental or suicide, according to Sgt. Matthew Shackelford of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. Traffic was unaffected since the collision occurred in an area of South Fullerton Road and East Gale Avenue closed for continued work on the Fullerton Road grade separation, Shackelford said. INDUSTRY - Firefighters are working to locate the source of a freon leak inside a Costco Wholesale Thursday night. There are no patients reported after the freon leak was detected in the refrigerated section inside Costco, 17550 Castleton St., around 10:38 p.m. August 8, according to Dispatch Supervisor Martin Rangel of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Health hazmat units from the county fire department are on scene. The Costco was evacuated, firefighters at the scene reported. The vehicle became engulfed after a mechanical issue on the Fairway Drive on ramp to the eastbound 60 freeway just before 9 a.m., according to Dispatch Supervisor Ed Pickett with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The officer was hospitalized for precautionary measures, according to Officer Elizabeth Kravig of the California Highway Patrol. Firefighters were called to Puente Hills Mall, 1600 S. Azusa Ave., at 10:17 a.m. and arrived three minutes later to investigate a potential commercial building fire. They found smoke on the second story of the mall, according to Vanessa Lozano of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The fire is 50 feet by 50 feet wide and is affecting large trees nearby between a parking lot and a nearby structure, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The fire, dispatched at 4:01 p.m., is not threatening any nearby structures. A 29-year-old man became pinned after the forklift reportedly fell off a loading dock in the 100 block of North Baldwin Park Boulevard around 3:50 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The man was removed after another forklift lifted the fallen forklift that pinned the man, firefighters said.
Firefighters report the man suffered moderate injuries to an arm and partial amputation. The man was transported by helicopter to an area trauma center for further treatment. The crash was dispatched to firefighters just before 1 p.m. May 10 at East Valley Boulevard and South Stimson Avenue. Three occupants were trapped, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
A newer white van and what appeared to be a silver truck collided. The truck flipped on its roof. A helicopter was called to transport at least one victim to an area trauma center. Ground ambulances were called to transport others. The package was discovered around 2:47 p.m. There are no reports of people feeling sick or injured, according to Lt. Chris Garcia of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. Los Angeles County firefighters were dispatched at 3:21 p.m. to DPSS headquarters, 12860 Crossroads Pkwy South.
Employees have evacuated the building, according to firefighters. Hazmat units with the Los Angeles County Fire Department are en route to assess the package. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor INDUSTRY - A Sig Alert has been extended until at least 3:30 p.m. after a trailer hauling 28,000 pounds of rims overturned on the eastbound 60 freeway off ramp at Azusa Avenue Tuesday. The container and chassis overturned around 11:30 a.m. The off ramp remains closed while the Sig Alert is active, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two engines from the Los Angeles County Fire Department were called to the scene at 11:28 a.m., but it is unclear if any one was injured. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station is investigating the crash, the CHP said. |
