Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor INDUSTRY - Three suspects accused of burglarizing railroad cars were chased along freeways and surface streets in the City of Industry area around 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
The suspects were removing televisions packed inside a rail car in the 18000 block of Railroad Street March 15. A responding Sheriff’s Department helicopter scared the men off, according to Sgt. Andre Kneubuhler of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The suspects fled in a truck and were chased north on the 605 freeway from the 60 freeway. The suspects exited the 605 onto Valley Boulevard where they tried to escape on foot, according to Sheriff’s Department radio traffic. The suspects were unable to flee with the televisions once they began escaping the rail car, Kneubuhler told SGV CityWatch. The suspects’ truck was abandoned behind Satin Topless, 13079 Valley Blvd. All three suspects were caught near where the truck was abandoned. Kneubuhler was hesitant to identify the suspects, only describing them as men between 30 and 37 years old. All three men will be facing burglary and receiving stolen property charges. One suspect will additionally be charged with felony evading, Kneubuhler told SGV CityWatch. |
