CityWatch Editor CLAREMONT - Four juveniles were arrested March 29, accused of stealing merchandise from a liquor store and striking an employee in the head. The robbery and beatdown occurred at Rocky Liquor, 1045 W. Foothill Blvd., in the late evening hours. Officers arrived and found an employee who reported being struck in the head from behind with a glass bottle while confronting some thieves, according to the Claremont Police Department. Officers located the four suspects hiding in some bushes in the 900 block of Ottawa Drive. As officers detained three individuals, a fourth suspect attempted to flee on foot. Following a brief pursuit, the individual was safely taken into custody, according to the Claremont Police Department in a written statement. All four suspects were arrested on charges of robbery, with one suspect additionally charged with assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest, according to the Claremont Police Department.
