Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor CLAREMONT - One man was arrested at a Claremont motel after police tracked down his vehicle used in a daring liquor store burglary. Burglars were caught on surveillance camera burrowing through drywall at La West Liquor and Market, 333 E. Arrow Hwy. March 3, in the early morning hours. The getaway vehicle was caught on camera, according to the Claremont Police Department. Claremont Police have not yet mentioned how many other burglars may have been involved and if they have been arrested yet. A patrol officer saw the vehicle parked at Motel 6, 840 S. Indian Hill Blvd. and the officer discovered alcohol and burglary tools clearly visible inside, Claremont Police said.
After learning the suspect’s identity and the room he was staying in, he was arrested as he left his motel room. West Covina resident Frank Hernandez, 40, was booked on suspicion of possessing stolen property, possessing burglary tools, possessing methamphetamine, possessing drug paraphernalia and committing a felony while out on bond, Claremont Police said. Hernandez is scheduled for an appearance in Pomona Superior Court Thursday, March 5. |
