Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor CLAREMONT - Three teenagers were tracked to a Pomona home and arrested after two of the suspects allegedly robbed their victim of property during a scheduled transaction.
Two 17-year-olds and a 15-year-old were arrested after the victim gave officers a description of the suspects and their vehicle, which led investigators to Pomona, according to the Claremont Police Department. The victim was robbed of the property that was intended to be sold around 1:15 p.m. Sunday in the area of West First Street and South Indian Hill Boulevard said Jason Walters, lieutenant for the Claremont Police Department. Two 17-year-olds met the victim and during the intended transaction, a firearm was brandished. The suspects demanded the property which was surrendered and the two suspects fled to a waiting vehicle, Walters said. The suspects were located at a home in the 1400 block of East Holt Boulevard. Eventually, two suspects emerged from the home and entered a vehicle which was driven away from the location. Officers moved in and performed a traffic stop. A search of the vehicle yielded evidence tied to the crime. Both 17-year-olds were arrested and booked on suspicion of robbery, Walters sad. A subsequent search of the suspect home yielded additional evidence tied to the robbery, including the property taken at gunpoint, Walters said. A 15-year-old boy inside the home was also arrested and booked on suspicion of robbery. One of the teens was taken to the Central Juvenile Hall in Los Angeles, while a second teen was released to the custody of a parent or guardian. A third teen was released from custody, pending additional investigation, Walters said. |
