COVINA - Calls from concerned witnesses led officers to a man brandishing a replica rifle early Saturday.
Officers were sent to the 900 block of North Azusa Avenue around 3:48 a.m. January 18 after callers reported a man carrying a rifle, according to Lt. Tony Zavala of the Covina Police Department.
The suspect was found near Alberto’s, 905 N. Azusa Ave.
“When officers got there, they contacted the subject and they found a pellet rifle. He was arrested for brandishing a weapon,” Zavala told SGV CityWatch.
Zavala didn’t know if the suspect was using it in a threatening manner.
The suspect was arrested without incident and booked on suspicion of brandishing a replica firearm.
