Two Men Sought in Attempted Covina Home Robbery Caught on Camera

COVINA - A family was home Tuesday night when to men armed with a crowbar, brass knuckles and a handgun attempted to enter a home.

The entire incident was caught on security footage December 18. Two men clad in hoodies, their faces covered, approached the front door in the 1500 block of East Algrove Street. One man knocked on the door and fumbled with a handgun while calling out one of the resident’s names, according to the Covina Police Department.

The men approached the door around 9:15 p.m.

Inside the home, a husband, pregnant wife and their 6-year-old boy were inside.

The resident’s were alerted to the men when their iRing security camera notified them of activity at the door, Covina Police said.

The would-be robbers knew to call out one of the resident’s names since it appeared on a vehicle decal outside, Covina Police said.

The husband waited behind the front door, a gun in hand, while his wife called police.

The suspects left in a white panel van fixed with a black license plate.
