Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor DIAMOND BAR - A suspect simulated a handgun and demanded cash, escaping with cash from Chase Bank Saturday morning, a Sheriff’s sergeant said. A 9-1-1 call was made from Chase Bank, 334 S. Diamond Bar Blvd., at 10:57 a.m. January 4. The suspect fled with $1,000, according to Sgt. Anderson of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station. Roughly 20 minutes after the robbery occurred, deputies located a grey Mustang they believed was connected to the robbery. It was followed from near West Mission Boulevard and South Huntington Street to East Phillips Boulevard and South San Antonio Avenue.
The driver and vehicle were not involved in the robbery, Anderson said. The suspect was described as a white man in his 50s, Anderson said. A Sheriff’s crime broadcast further described the suspect as wearing a grey hat, grey hooded sweatshirt and he sported a reddish beard and mustache. |
