Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor DIAMOND BAR – A pursuit suspect died at the scene after striking a concrete pole while evading Pomona officers. The suspect, only described as a male, fled officers who tried to conduct a traffic stop on South Reservoir Street near the off ramp from the eastbound 60 freeway in Pomona, according to Public Information Officer Aly Mejia of the Pomona Police Department. The pursuit began around 2:30 a.m. January 21.
The pursuit entered Diamond Bar where the rider crashed, Mejia said. Firefighters were called by Pomona Police to the area of West Mission Boulevard and West Temple Avenue at 2:40 a.m. to a solo motorcycle crash, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The fatality crash is being investigated by deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station. |
