DUARTE - An unknown suspect disconnected the security cameras at a sushi restaurant in early September and made off with thousands in cash, deputies said.
The grand theft was reported at Sushi Fire, 1723 Huntington Dr., between the hours of 11 p.m. September 1 and 10 a.m. September 2. Approximately $2,000 was taken, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station.
The money was placed behind the counter after closing time with only employees still present, deputies said.
Management realized the security cameras were disconnected when trying to check the footage.
The investigation is ongoing.
