Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor DUARTE - Two burglary suspects fled, one dropped a cash register, after a deputy spotted them leaving a burglarized restaurant late last month.
The suspects fled Baklava Land Bakery and Café, 1431 Huntington Dr., early in the morning May 29 after being spotted by a deputy who was patrolling the business, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. The suspects entered the business by smashing through the glass front doors. The register was dumped in some nearby bushes. A containment search eventually yielded two hiding suspects who were booked on suspicion of burglary. Arrested were 22-year-old Jesse Santoyo and 26-year-old Dion Fredrick. Fredrick and Santoyo were arrested at 2:37 a.m. Fredrick is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail at the North County Correctional Facility in Castaic awaiting an appearance at Alhambra Superior Court June 15, according to Los Angeles County booking records. Santoyo was released May 29 and had a scheduled appearance at Alhambra Superior Court May 31. |
