Jaime Alejandro De La Cruz, 20, was nabbed Wednesday, November 28 after police identified him from the description given by his two victims, El Monte Police said. De La Cruz is accused of following the two girls as they walked to school November 26 around 9 a.m. De La Cruz then parked ahead of them at the corner of Friendswood Avenue and Bodger Street and performed a lewd act as they walked by, El Monte Police said. De La Cruz then asked the girls if they wanted “a ride.” He drove away from the area. “With the information provided by the victims, El Monte Police Detectives conducted an investigation and arrested De La Cruz at his home,” El Monte Police said. Detectives are concerned De la Cruz may have more victims. Anyone with information on other incidents is urged to call El Monte Police Detective Nafarrate at 626-580-2135. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor EL MONTE - Sheriff’s homicide detectives are assisting El Monte police with a death investigation at a motel Sunday. The death occurred in the 10400 block of Garvey Avenue around 5:30 p.m. The victim, only described as a man, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Firefighters responded to a hotel for a patient in full arrest, according to Dispatch Supervisor Imogene McBride of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The address is La Bonita Motel, 10407 Garvey Ave. The manner of death was not disclosed. No other information is available. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor EL MONTE - A motorcyclist was arrested Wednesday night after ditching his ride and hiding in an El Monte neighborhood. Officers initially tried to stop the rider, Dillon Parks, 23, for a vehicle code violation around 10:23 p.m. November 14 at Peck Road and Ranchito Street. Parks accelerated his motorcycle and fled officers, said Lt. Michael Buckhannon of the El Monte Police Department. Parks evaded officers, sometimes at 70 miles per hour in the two-minute pursuit through residential streets, Buckhannon said. The pursuit terminated in the 11000 block of McGirk Avenue, Buckhannon said.
Residents on McGirk told SGV CityWatch Parks at one point used sidewalks to try and evade officers, but he was pinned in by police squad cars. Forced to ditch his ride, Parks allegedly fled through yards, but he was caught after a brief search. Parks was booked on suspicion of felony evading police and operating the motorcycle on a suspended license. He is being held in lieu of more than $76,000 bail. A 34-year-old woman was arrested, but her name has not been released by arson investigators with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, nor the El Monte Police Department as the investigation continues. The suspect allegedly set a tree on fire near railroad tracks in the 12100 block of Clora Place before Noon November 11. Firefighters requested a second-alarm response for additional manpower to extinguish the flames, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The American Red Cross was called to assist those displaced by the fires. |
