The death was reported in the 3600 block of Peck Road just after 7:30 a.m. April 12, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The death of 59-year-old Anthony Leyva was ruled a homicide, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. It is unclear if detectives have identified a suspect. El Monte Police officers responding to a assault with a deadly weapon call in the 11000 block of Ranchito Street discovered the body of a 40 to 45-year-old woman. She suffered from multiple stab wounds. Paramedics declared her dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. First responders were sent to the location just before 5 p.m. Sunday, October 22. The suspect, only described as a Latino woman 20 to 25 years old, was detained outside of the residence. She was later taken into custody. A potential murder weapon was found at the scene. It is not publicly clear if investigators have determined a motive. The 68-year-old man was taken to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. No other information is available. El Monte officers responded to the 10000 block of Valley Boulevard at 8:50 p.m. May 20 to a disturbance call and found a man suffering from several stab wounds to the upper torso. The man later died after being hospitalized, according to Deputy Maria Lucero of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. There is no additional information available. The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene in the 4400 block of Baldwin Avenue. Although a Sheriff’s press release listed the time of the reported stabbing as 7 a.m., firefighters were called by deputies at 7:20 a.m. to Baldwin Avenue between Lower Azusa Road and Gidley Street for a cardiac arrest victim. Firefighters arrived on scene and declared the victim dead on arrival six minutes later, according to Austin Bennett of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The Sheriff’s Department has yet to provide more details regarding the stabbing death.
Just after 8 a.m., El Monte Police had all lanes of Baldwin Avenue blocked between Lower Azusa and Valley Boulevard. |
