Man Killed During Triple Shooting at El Monte Sports Bar

EL MONTE - A man was shot dead and two others wounded in an early-morning shooting at a sports bar, investigators said.

The victim who was killed died inside of the sports bar. A second victim who fled the scene was located at a hospital. She is in stable condition. Witnesses report another woman was shot, but she fled the location and her whereabouts are not known, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

First responders were sent to a report of gunfire around 12:09 a.m. in the 10700 block of Lower Azusa Road, October 12. As El Monte police officers arrived, bystanders directed officers into the bar to a gunshot victim.

While investigators did not name the bar, the general address combined with Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatch records indicate the shooting occurred at the Silver Dollar Saloon, 10729 Lower Azusa Rd.

It is not publicly clear if investigators have identified a suspect or suspects.
