A known gang member was arrested in an Azusa motel Friday, February 22, by Glendora Police detectives. A loaded handgun and a large quantity of methamphetamine was recovered during a search warrant, the Glendora Police Department said. Arrested in Azusa was Lawrence Wheeler, a 60-year-old Covina man. Detectives believe the methamphetamine was for sale. Tuesday, February 26, Glendora Community Impact Team Officers and Los Angeles County Probation conducted a probation compliance check in the 1200 block of East Gladstone Street. Officers seized an assault weapon, two handguns and a number of magazines, Glendora Police said. Arrested was Jennica Salagubang, 28, and Francis Maniti, 45. Both are from Glendora. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - A man attempted to take a bag from his victim inside one of the hotel rooms at the Glendora Motel Friday afternoon. The incident was reported at the Glendora Motel, 330 W. Route 66, around 4:06 p.m. The suspect attempted to take what was described as a personal bag from his male victim, according to Glendora Police Lieutenant Marty Barrett. The suspect is a white man, about 6 feet tall dressed in all black and he wore a black baseball hat, Barrett said. No one was injured. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - Officers on patrol reported two mountain lion sightings in town early Sunday. The first sighting was around 2:30 am. near Oak Tree Drive and Foothill Boulevard. The wild creature was seen running across Foothill, according to the Glendora Police Department. A second sighting was reported in the 1500 block of East Compromise Line Road at 8:40 a.m. A mountain lion was seen jumping a wall from the railroad tracks and northbound through residential yards. It was last seen near Zara Street, Glendora Police said. “If you see a mountain lion, call 911 immediately. Officers will respond and if the mountain lion is located, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife will be notified. The threat to public safety will be assessed and appropriate action will be taken,” the Glendora Police Department said.
The City of Glendora has provided information on how to coexist with wildlife.

GLENDORA - A man was captured on security video attempting to break into a home February 9, Glendora Police announced.
The suspect was caught on camera at a home in the 1100 block of West Danton Drive. He was also seen at homes in the 200 block of North Baldy Vista Avenue and the 300 block of North Snapdragon Lane between 4:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., Glendora Police said. (VIDEO BELOW)

Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - Traffic is still impacted by a crash on the westbound 210 freeway at Grand Avenue after a van spun out, crashed and began leaking fuel. The crash occurred just before 3 a.m. The white van spun out and crashed into the center divider. The driver apparently abandoned the van, according tot he California Highway Patrol. Approximately 50 gallons of fuel leaked onto the freeway. A Sig Alert was issued at 3:14 a.m. for all lanes initially, but the No. 3 and 4 lanes were opened by 6:12 a.m. |
