Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - The uninjured driver accused of crashing into a garage and severing a gas line that ignited a destructive fire Wednesday was arrested and booked on suspicion of DUI.
Wanda Lewis, 52, was arrested at 5:16 p.m. She was booked at 6:26 p.m. and later released on a citation at 8:30 p.m., according to Los Angeles County booking records. Lewis was the only occupant of the SUV that smashed into a garage in the 2400 of Curtis Court December 28, according to Sgt. Josh Price of the Glendora Police Department. Lewis was able to free herself from the twisted wreck before the gas line ignited, Price told SGV CityWatch. The crash and fire heavily damaged a garage, burning property inside and burning the crashed SUV. As firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, other firefighters worked to pull the SUV off the gas line that fed the flames that burned the garage and crashed SUV.
