Glendora Police Detectives served the search warrant at the apartment complex on Route 66 and Grand Avenue November 28. Detectives discovered multiple illegal firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition, incendiary ammunition, weapon parts and manufactured equipment, according to the Glendora Police Department. Oscar Albert Ojeda, 38, was booked on suspicion of domestic battery, inflicting corporal injury on a child, manufacturing/selling/transporting an assault weapon, possessing a destructive device, criminal storage of a firearm and manufacturing/storing a short-barrel rifle, according to Glendora Police booking records. Ojeda posted bond the day of his arrest, according to Los Angeles County booking records. Kevin Fernandez, 27, and Ahmad Ibrahim, 29, were booked at the Glendora jail. Fernandez, identified as a Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang member, was booked on suspicion of aggravated mayhem and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury. Ibrahim was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and being a felony accessory after the fact, according to the Glendora Police Department. A stabbing was reported to police at Britestar Tavern, 731 W. Route 66, just before 12:30 a.m. May 22. One person was severely wounded. The suspects fled before officers arrived, according to the Glendora Police Department. Shortly after the Glendora stabbing, two suspects fled the scene of a stabbing at Elvie’s Inn, 610 Shopper’s Ln., in Covina. After Fernandez and Ibrahim were identified, Glendora detectives, assisted by Covina Police and Azusa Police detectives, located the duo and took them into custody. Ibrahim posted bond. Fernandez is being held at the Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles in lieu of more than $1.1 million bail ahead of scheduled appearance in the West Covina Courthouse July 1. Dylan Harmer was fatally shot by Azusa officers called to assist with a containment and search for the suspect after he allegedly attempted to carjack multiple drivers and allegedly aimed a handgun at police August 4. Glendora officers were called to a domestic violence report after a woman claimed her boyfriend assaulted her and that he was armed with a handgun. The suspect, later identified by the coroner as Harmer, fled the home as police arrived and he allegedly pointed the gun at them, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Glendora officers requested mutual aid from Azusa Police as a containment was set up. Arriving Azusa officers encountered Harmer as he attempted to carjack multiple drivers in the intersection of Glendora Avenue and Route 66. “The suspect turned and pointed a handgun at the officers, at which time an officer-involved shooting occurred,” according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Harmer was struck in the upper torso. No one else was injured. Harmer was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center where he died, according to Sarah Ardalani, public information officer with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. A coroner exam is scheduled for Harmer. The suspect was struck in the upper torso and died after being hospitalized. No one else was injured. Hunter Allen Ehmke is accused of one count of damaging or destroying government property, one count of obstruction of an official proceeding and one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. With the help of Glendora Police, Ehmke was taken into custody at his relative’s home, former Glendora councilman Bob Kuhn, Wednesday, January 13. Ehmke was scheduled for an initial appearance in federal court January 14. He was released on the $40,000 bond and is confined to home detention and electronic home monitoring, according to the DOJ. According to a Statement of Facts released by the DOJ, a Capitol Hill Police officer witnessed Ehmke who stood on a ledge near the Capitol Rotunda steps landing. Ehmke, clad in a dark gray jacket and dark-colored pants, motioned for additional rioters to join him. Ehmke proceeded to strike a 6-foot-tall window pane with his fist. The window leads to an interior office. The Capitol Hill officer ran from fellow officers who were holding back a line of rioters and struck Ehmke with a riot shield twice, eventually causing both Ehmke and the officer to fall to the ground, the Statement said. The window was broken, allegedly by Ehmke. As the fellow officers came to their partner’s assistance and restrained Ehmke, a group of rioters advanced on the officers and reportedly refused to allow them to take their detainee. The officers felt it was best to allow Ehmke to be released at the scene, but not before Taking pictures of Ehmke, the damage window and informing him that they would seek a warrant for his arrest later. His California ID was also confiscated before Ehmke was released back into the crowd. Ehmke is scheduled for an initial appearance in federal court in Washington, D.C. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - A suspect was arrested and booked on suspicion of assault on an officer after he allegedly backed his SUV aggressively towards a deputy during a traffic stop Tuesday night.
Frank Hernandez, 47, is accused of backing his blue Chevrolet Silverado aggressively during a traffic stop at 13736 Valley Boulevard in Industry. The action forced the deputy to leap out of the way, according to Lt. David Petrocelli of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The incident occurred around 11:37 p.m. “As the deputy approached the vehicle, the suspect suddenly put his vehicle in reverse, rapidly backed up toward the deputy, causing the deputy to jump out of the way to avoid being struck,” Petrocelli told SGV CityWatch. The suspect took off with the deputy pursuing west on Valley Boulevard. The pursuit stuck to surface streets at mostly 50 miles per hour, at times reaching 90 into Irwindale where the suspect fled east on Foothill Boulevard. Hernandez suddenly stopped on east Route 66 at Lorraine Avenue, fled the vehicle and disappeared briefly, before walking back to deputies to surrender, Petrocelli told SGV CityWatch. It is not immediately clear if Hernandez discarded illegal property before surrendering. A motive for fleeing is not immediately clear. Hernandez is being held in lieu of $201,250 bail ahead of a scheduled appearance in Rio Hondo Municipal Court in El Monte December 11. The victim was found with several wounds by officers arriving to a reported stabbing at 12:55 p.m. February 17. The suspect took refuge in the Glendora Motel, 330 W. Route 66, Glendora Police said. The victim was treated on scene by paramedics and was taken to a hospital in stable condition. The regional Foothills Special Enforcement Team, a SWAT team made of officers from nearby police departments, responded to assist in apprehending the people barricaded inside one of the hotel rooms. After hours of negotiations, the six exited the motel and where detained. One of the six was transported to an area hospital for undisclosed reasons. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - A man is facing multiple counts after two victims came forward with allegations of sex abuse from 10 years ago. Delfino Agama, 40, a former Glendora resident, was arrested November 6 within nine hours of officers taking an initial report from two victims, according to the Glendora Police Department. The victims were between the ages of 7 and 11 years old when the alleged crimes occurred in 2009. “Glendora Detectives immediately began working on the case and were able to obtain evidence linking the suspect to the alleged crimes,” Glendora Police said in a written statement. Agama was charged with seven felonies. Los Angeles County Superior Court records show Agama was charged with five counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a minor under the age of 14, one count of continuous sex abuse of a child, and one count of sex acts with a child under the age of 10.
Agama is being held in lieu of nearly $6.4 million bail at the North County Correctional Facility in Castaic ahead of a scheduled appearance in Pomona Superior Court December 17, according to Los Angeles County booking records. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - A Citrus College employee was arrested October 10 at Citrus College in connection to a reported sex assault. Clarence Dumasal Cernal, 38, was arrested around 1:52 p.m. He was identified by Lt. Mike Randazzo of the Glendora Police Department. Randazzo stated that Cernal was booked on suspicion of rape. While details are few regarding where the crime occurred, Citrus College crime logs showed Cernal was arrested in the Center for Innovation building regarding a sex offense. The alleged crime occurred September 27. Robert Sammis, director of human resources at Citrus College, declined to comment further on the investigation. He did state that Cernal’s future at Citrus College hinges on the outcome of Glendora Police’s investigation and a independent investigation by Citrus College. According to California public employee records, Cernal was employed by Citrus College as far back as 2012 and held such positions as payroll technician, an unspecified role in public relations at the college and spent most of his employment there as administrative assistant.
Cernal also served on the college’s Classified Development Committee. His name no longer appears under a list of committee members and it is unclear if it was removed due to the investigation. Cernal was held by police until he was released on $200,000 bond the same day of his arrest. It is unclear if a case has been presented yet by Glendora Police to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Riverside man Aaron Michael Beierschmitt, 33, was booked on suspicion of attempted murder after turning himself in. He was arrested at the Glendora Police Department at 11:27 p.m. August 4, according to Los Angeles County booking records. The stabbing was reported at Our Place, 240 E. Route 66, around 12:43 a.m. Sunday. Police arrived and found a man suffering from a substantial stab wound to an unspecified area of his body, according to Lt. Chris Stabio of the Glendora Police Department. “Detectives worked through Sunday to identify and locate the suspect. Late Sunday night, detectives convinced 33-year-old Aaron Beierschmitt of Riverside to turn himself in. Beierschmitt, who is currently on Post-Release Community Supervision, was arrested without incident,” Glendora Police said in a written statement.
The victim was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center. The wound preliminarily was deemed not life-threatening, Stabio said. Azusa Police assisted Glendora officers at the scene. The case against Beierschmitt was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, which filed charges of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, Glendora Police said. Beierschmitt is being held in lieu of nearly $ 1.1 million bail. |
