The burglary occurred in the 100 block of South Gordon Avenue around 1:59p.m. April 4. Officers watched the home and observed two suspects flee into a waiting vehicle with pillowcases full of alleged stolen property, according to Lt. Matt Fenner of the Glendora Police Department. Officers used their patrol vehicles to box in the suspect vehicle. Recovered were two handguns and jewelry. In all, $5,000 in property was taken. Arrested were Camilo Andres Lancheros Garcia, 22, and Daivyd Jair Buitrago Calderon. Both men were charged with first-degree burglary. The incident unfolded November 1 at Walmart, 1950 Auto Centre Dr. “The suspect removed a fixed blade knife from his person and made threatening statements towards an employee before leaving the store with stolen merchandise,” according to the Glendora Police Department in a written statement. Daniel Cervantes, a 37-year-old Pasadena man, was found near the Walmart. Officers booked him on suspicion of robbery and carrying a concealed dirk or dagger. Cervantes is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail at the North County Correctional Facility in Castaic. He has already made two initial court appearances and pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. Cervantes is expected to return to the West Covina Courthouse November 17. Tywan Lamont Brown, 25, DiJonn Cooper, 25, and Amber Dayanara Echeverria, 20, had charges officially filed against them November 14 by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Echeverria was additionally charged with felony evading. Cooper was additionally charged with carrying a loaded firearm in a public place or vehicle, according to Los Angeles Superior Court records. Police gave chase to the three suspects who fled the scene of a residential burglary in the 100 block of North Catherine Park Drive just before 3 p.m. The driver refused to stop and led police on a chase until the driver crashed at Glendora Avenue and Route 66. Brown and Cooper allegedly ran from the crashed vehicle, leaving Echeverria behind. A multi-agency search helped to corral the suspects hiding in a yard in the 600 block of South Minnesota Avenue. Cooper and Brown are being held in lieu of nearly $1.3 million bail. Echeverria posted bond and was released November 16. All three suspects are scheduled for an appearance in the West Covina Courthouse November 28. Juan Antonio Armenta, 45, was spotted in the 1000 block of East Route 66 September 7. He was followed as he drove into a nearby neighborhood where he shut off his headlights. A vehicle search during a traffic stop revealed a treasure trove of items. “The vehicle was searched and five cut catalytic converters, an angle grinder and drug paraphernalia were located,” according to the Glendora Police Department in a written statement. Armenta was booked on suspicion of grand theft, possession of burglary tools, possession of drug paraphernalia and for an outstanding arrest warrant. He is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail ahead of a scheduled appearance in the West Covina Courthouse Friday, September 9, according to Los Angeles County booking records. Kevin Fernandez, 27, and Ahmad Ibrahim, 29, were booked at the Glendora jail. Fernandez, identified as a Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang member, was booked on suspicion of aggravated mayhem and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury. Ibrahim was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and being a felony accessory after the fact, according to the Glendora Police Department. A stabbing was reported to police at Britestar Tavern, 731 W. Route 66, just before 12:30 a.m. May 22. One person was severely wounded. The suspects fled before officers arrived, according to the Glendora Police Department. Shortly after the Glendora stabbing, two suspects fled the scene of a stabbing at Elvie’s Inn, 610 Shopper’s Ln., in Covina. After Fernandez and Ibrahim were identified, Glendora detectives, assisted by Covina Police and Azusa Police detectives, located the duo and took them into custody. Ibrahim posted bond. Fernandez is being held at the Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles in lieu of more than $1.1 million bail ahead of scheduled appearance in the West Covina Courthouse July 1. David Rivas, 34, allegedly fled from officers when they tried to stop him March 11. Rivas ran briefly from officers who eventually chased him down and arrested him. A handgun was located, according to the Glendora Police Department. Rivas was arrested just after midnight at Gladstone Street and Citrus Avenue. “A handgun was also located near where Rivas was arrested, and it was determined Rivas tried to discard it,” according to the Glendora Police Department in a written statement. Rivas was booked on suspicion of the unlawful taking of a vehicle, receiving known stolen property, evading a peace officer with wanton disregard for safety, hit and run, resisting a peace officer, being a felon/addict in possession of a firearm, being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm in public, possessing a controlled substance, possessing a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm, being a gang member while carrying a loaded firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, altering/forging/falsifying registration and for a felony warrant. Rivas is being held in Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles ahead of a scheduled appearance in the West Covina courthouse March 15. The suspect was seen removing and taking a catalytic converter in the 600 block of South Grand Avenue March 2. Officers were called and they stopped the suspect as he attempted to leave the area, according to the Glendora Police Department. Once the suspect was detained, officers discovered three cut catalytic converters, a realistic airsoft handgun and tools alleged to have been used in the crimes, according to the Glendora Police Department. Sergio Lara, 31, was arrested at 11:09 a.m. and booked at 11:40 a.m. He was held in lieu of $20,000 bail and was scheduled for an initial court appearance March 4, according to Los Angeles County booking records. He was booked at the Glendora jail on suspicion of felony vandalism, grand theft, possession of burglary tools and being a felon in possession of pepper spray, according to the Glendora Police Department. Saul Osorio Henriquez, 34, and Julian Avila, 29, were booked on suspicion of grand theft, vandalism, possession of burglary tools and delaying an officer. Police arrived to the 700 block of West Route 66 around 2:13 p.m. Thursday to search for suspects in a catalytic converter theft. Officers did not elaborate how they identified the suspect vehicle, leading to the FLOCK cameras to pinpoint the suspects’ location. The suspects were found in a business parking lot and fled from officers, who established a containment search. Both men were located eventually and a search of the vehicle revealed multiple catalytic converters, cutting tools and a jack, according to the Glendora Police Department. Osorio Henriquez is on county probation for vehicle theft. Avila is on Post Release Community Supervision for assault, according to the Glendora Police Department. Both men are scheduled for an appearance in the West Covina Courthouse January 24. The driver and two juveniles were accused of committing grand theft at Ulta Beauty, 1229 S. Lone Hill Ave., and at Chili’s, 1371 E. Gladstone St. Police were called at 6:51 p.m., according to Sgt. Shelly Gold of the Glendora Police Department. Both businesses are located in the Glendora Marketplace. Glendora officers on patrol were close by the Marketplace and were able to intercept the driver who refused to comply with a traffic stop and took off. Police decided to end the pursuit due to the driver’s reckless nature, Gold told SGV CityWatch. The driver crashed into as many as four other vehicles at Gladstone Street and Sunflower Avenue around 6:55 p.m., according to a passerby who reached out to SGV CityWatch. Taylor Jorie Diaz, 18, was booked on suspicion of grand theft of money, labor, or property and reckless evading, according to Glendora Police booking records. Hunter Allen Ehmke is accused of one count of damaging or destroying government property, one count of obstruction of an official proceeding and one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. With the help of Glendora Police, Ehmke was taken into custody at his relative’s home, former Glendora councilman Bob Kuhn, Wednesday, January 13. Ehmke was scheduled for an initial appearance in federal court January 14. He was released on the $40,000 bond and is confined to home detention and electronic home monitoring, according to the DOJ. According to a Statement of Facts released by the DOJ, a Capitol Hill Police officer witnessed Ehmke who stood on a ledge near the Capitol Rotunda steps landing. Ehmke, clad in a dark gray jacket and dark-colored pants, motioned for additional rioters to join him. Ehmke proceeded to strike a 6-foot-tall window pane with his fist. The window leads to an interior office. The Capitol Hill officer ran from fellow officers who were holding back a line of rioters and struck Ehmke with a riot shield twice, eventually causing both Ehmke and the officer to fall to the ground, the Statement said. The window was broken, allegedly by Ehmke. As the fellow officers came to their partner’s assistance and restrained Ehmke, a group of rioters advanced on the officers and reportedly refused to allow them to take their detainee. The officers felt it was best to allow Ehmke to be released at the scene, but not before Taking pictures of Ehmke, the damage window and informing him that they would seek a warrant for his arrest later. His California ID was also confiscated before Ehmke was released back into the crowd. Ehmke is scheduled for an initial appearance in federal court in Washington, D.C. |
