Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - A 100-pound mountain lion was relocated back to the foothills Monday morning after it was spotted in a Glendora neighborhood, police said. The mountain lion was seen in the 800 block of East Leadora Avenue around 6 a.m. April 22. The creature decided to stay along the wash access road near East Leadora after officers attempted to direct it back into the hills, according to the Glendora Police Department.
The area was contained by police until the California Department of Fish & Wildlife arrived and tranquilized the mountain lion after it jumped into a tree in a residential rear yard. The first sighting was around 2:30 am. near Oak Tree Drive and Foothill Boulevard. The wild creature was seen running across Foothill, according to the Glendora Police Department. A second sighting was reported in the 1500 block of East Compromise Line Road at 8:40 a.m. A mountain lion was seen jumping a wall from the railroad tracks and northbound through residential yards. It was last seen near Zara Street, Glendora Police said. “If you see a mountain lion, call 911 immediately. Officers will respond and if the mountain lion is located, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife will be notified. The threat to public safety will be assessed and appropriate action will be taken,” the Glendora Police Department said.
