GLENDORA – A man allegedly driving a stolen vehicle at high-speed on the wrong side of the road was finally caught after crashing into a parked vehicle October 9, the Glendora Police Department said.
Officers accuse Eddie Jessie Valdez, 37, of evading police, causing an injury hit and run collision and grand theft auto, according to the Glendora Police Department.
A patrol officer witnessed the driver of a stolen vehicle speeding in opposing lanes of traffic around 9:50 p.m. in the 700 block of West Route 66. The officer attempted to catch up with the driver, but the driver crashed into a parked vehicle at Glenwood Avenue and Route 66, according to the Glendora Police Department.
“The suspect fled the stolen vehicle on foot and the officer gave chase. The suspect, identified as Eddie Valdez, was quickly apprehended and taken into custody without further incident,” according to the Glendora Police Department in a written statement.
In addition to the charges listed above, Valdez was additionally charged with violating the terms of his Post Release Community Supervision.
Valdez is being held without bail in the Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles.
