Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor IRWINDALE – One person died after a black sedan rolled over and crashed in the No. 1 lane of the 605 freeway. The crash occurred on the northbound side of the freeway just south of Lower Azusa Road around 2:09 a.m. February 26. The No. 1 and 2 lanes were blocked for two hours, according to the California Highway Patrol. Debris was reportedly spread across all lanes, forcing CHP officers to temporarily close all northbound lanes.
Baldwin Park Police assisted the CHP by shutting down the northbound 605 freeway on ramp at Ramona Boulevard. The Los Angeles County Coroner arrived to retrieve the victim at 3:19 a.m. A Sig Alert, issued for the No. 1 and 2 lanes, was cancelled at 5:08 a.m. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor AZUSA - A man and woman were arrested Monday After law Enforcement located a stolen truck seen leaving an Azusa motel.
The suspects were found in a truck reported stolen from Huntington Park February 16, according to Rudy Gatto, Sergeant with the Irwindale Police Department. Arrested were George Albert Sandoval, A 41-year-old Norwalk resident, and Jacqueline Gabrielle Osegueda, A 37-year-old Baldwin Park woman. And Irwindale police detective and detectives from the Task Force for Regional Auto Theft Prevention , a Task force made up of regional law-enforcement personnel, located the stolen truck in the parking lot of the Super 8 Motel, 117 N. Azusa Ave. Both Sandoval, the driver, and Osegueda Left the motel. Irwindale officers assisted by Azusa police and a Pasadena police helicopter stopped the truck and the suspects were arrested without further incident. Both suspects were booked on suspicion of occupying a stolen vehicle. Osegueda Was additionally charged with possession of narcotics And possession of narcotics paraphernalia, Gatto said. The crash occurred in westbound lanes of East Live Oak Avenue at Stewart Avenue around 12:49 p.m. One person was declared dead on arrival, according to Marvin Lim, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Live Oak Avenue between Baldwin Park Boulevard and Commerce Drive remains closed during an investigation, according to the Irwindale Police Department. |
