Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor IRWINDALE - A stolen vehicle suspect was taken into custody Wednesday morning after running from Irwindale officers who tracked down the suspect with a LoJack device.
Ronald Analda Pasco, 30, was taken into custody near the 14000 block of Ohio Street Wednesday morning. He fled through several residential yards before being found and subdued, Irwindale Police said. The gold 2004 Nissan Frontier pickup truck was taken from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station patrol area earlier May 30. An Irwindale officer on routine picked up the LoJack signal around 8 a.m. near the 605 freeway and Los Angeles Street. Backup officers assisted and found the Frontier in the 4400 block of Stewart Street on the border with Baldwin Park, Irwindale Police said. Officers in unmarked police cars followed the Frontier until a traffic stop was initiated. Pasco took off on foot, Irwindale Police said. Pasco was taken into custody and later examined after being hit with a stun gun. He was medically cleared to be booked on suspicion taking a vehicle without the owner's consent, driving with a suspended California driver’s license,evading/resisting arrestand possession of a controlled substance. The stolen Frontier was recovered and released to the owner. Pasco is being held in lieu of $35,000 bail. The mulch fire was reported to the California Highway Patrol just after 6:31 a.m. The CHP and Caltrans initially forced a hard closure of the on ramp for two hours, but have increased that closure until at least 12:45 p.m for cleanup, according to CHP traffic logs. |
