Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA PUENTE - Deputies are searching for a suspect who allegedly opened fire on a vehicle Thursday evening. The shooting allegedly occurred in the area of Amar Road and North Orange Avenue. The victim told deputies the shooting occurred around 7:20 p.m., according to Sgt. Ramirez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The victim fled to a nearby Jack In the Box before ultimately ending up at the Industry Sheriff’s Station. The victim was not struck, but the vehicle reportedly sustained some damage.
While Ramirez could not confirm the type of round fired, a Sheriff’s crime broadcast initially stated a 9-millimeter handgun was used. The robbery took place at a liquor store in the 800 block of North Sunset Avenue. The 9-1-1 call was made at 7:56 p.m. October 13. The suspect armed with a handgun took an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Lt. James Long of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The suspect is a male, 20 to 25 years old. He was described as 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 140 pounds, is light skinned and wore all black clothing, including a black hooded sweatshirt and ski mask, Long said. The amount of cash taken was undisclosed. |
