Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA PUENTE - Deputies are searching for the trigger man who opened fire on a vehicle Sunday night, eventually killing a 10-year-old boy within.
The shooting took place near Amar Road and North Hacienda Blvd., May 17. An unknown suspect in a dark colored sedan opened fire. The boy was struck in the upper torso, according to Deputy Tracy Koerner the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The boy was taken to Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina, but was eventually transported to County/USC where he died, Koerner said. Deputies initially responded to the area of North Fifth Street and Temple Avenue where the victim ended up. But soon after responding, deputies learned that the shooting took place near the Kentucky Fried Chicken, 939 N. Hacienda Blvd., where they found evidence of the shooting, according to Sheriff’s radio traffic.
