The incident unfolded after 4 p.m. near Klamath Street and Fickewirth Avenue October 2, according to Sgt. Torres of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The barricade continues at this hour. The suspect was described as possibly committing an assault with a deadly weapon, but Torres was unclear what weapon may be involved. It is not immediately clear what injuries, if any, occurred. Deputies at the scene initially spoke of possible evacuations of surrounding homes as the containment was being set up. The assault with a deadly weapon occurred near 17301 Valley Blvd. just after 4:30 p.m. July 24. The armed suspect exited a black older-model Hyundai SUV and stabbed his victim once in the left arm, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s radio broadcast. Sgt. Smith of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station is unaware of any arrests and is unsure of a motive for the crime. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, Smith told SGV CityWatch. The suspect was described to deputies as a Hispanic man around 35 years old. He was described as heavy set, stood 5 feet 6 inches, wore a black shirt and black shorts, according to the radio broadcast. The Hyundai SUV was driven away by another heavy-set Hispanic man. The victim spoke to deputies at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station December 4, 2018 about the allegations. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Special Victims Bureau arrested the suspect August 23 near his La Puente home, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The suspect was identified as 44-year-old Sergio Quintanilla. The victim told detectives that the molestation occurred when he was 8 or 9 years old. The suspect, who was an adult at the time, befriended the family at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness church campus, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The alleged molestation occurred over six to eight months, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. “The suspect continued to be an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in the City of La Puente church organization until recently,” according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. “The suspect’s participation in the church organization provided him access to church youth on campus and during youth activities.” The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed one felony count of continuous sexual abuse of a child and one felony count of sodomy of a person under 14 years of age, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The suspect’s bail is set at $450,000. A mother, father and their boy arrived home in the 14200 block of Nelson Avenue around 9:15 p.m. As the mother and father exited their vehicle, a dark-colored sedan pulled up. A man within the sedan yelled “Puente” and gunfire rang out, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The mother and father drove their wounded boy to an area hospital where he was treated for his wounds. The boy was later released, but he will require further medical care, the Information Bureau said. No suspect description was given. The attack occurred outside 1601 Hacienda Blvd. Wednesday. The suspect approached the victim, squared off in preparation to fight and that is when the stabbing occurred, according to Sgt. Kline of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. “The suspect used a silver object to slice the victim during the fight. The victim is uncooperative and refused to provide additional details,” Kline told SGV CityWatch. “The victim sustained a laceration under his jaw and a laceration to his hand.” A description for the suspect was not available. The victim would not provide a suspect description other than that he is a male Hispanic in his 30s, Kline told SGV CityWatch. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA PUENTE - Deputies served a search warrant at a residence Thursday night and took a sexual assault suspect into custody, a Sheriff’s sergeant said. The incident unfolded in the area of Amar Road and Sunset Avenue. A containment was set by deputies who ordered residents to leave the multi-complex property before they served the search warrant. The suspect surrendered, according to Sgt. Leyba of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The containment began in the 11 p.m. hour and ended around midnight.
Detectives were still conducting interviews into Friday morning, Leyba told SGV CityWatch. The assault occurred several hours prior to the warrant service, Leyba told SGV CityWatch. The suspect’s booking information was not readily available. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA PUENTE - An assault with a deadly weapon suspect was caught after fleeing the scene of a crash he intentionally caused Tuesday night, deputies said. The suspect allegedly brandished a handgun during a road rage incident around 11 p.m. in the area of Hacienda Boulevard and Nelson Avenue, according to Lt. James Long of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The victim in the truck hit by the suspect’s Hyundai sedan fled to the nearby Sheriff’s Industry Station to get help. She was treated at the scene and later hospitalized with undisclosed injuries, Long said. A yard-to-yard search was conducted to locate the gun, but a gun was not found, according to Sgt. Jacobson of the Sheriff’s Industry Station.
The suspect was medically cleared before booking. Victor Asdruval Salazar, 36, was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Jacobson told SGV CityWatch. Salazar is being held in lieu of $145,000 bail ahead of a scheduled appearance in court Friday, February 21. The employee tried to intervene and stop the accused robber from taking the mug from the business, 209 S. Hacienda Blvd., around 5:30 a.m. The suspect then ran from the business, according Lt. Torres of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The suspect was found a short distance away and arrested. She was booked on suspicion of robbery, Torres told SGV CityWatch. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA PUENTE - A gun was reportedly found inside a vehicle after the driver fled deputies and slammed into another vehicle and a wall Friday afternoon. During a traffic stop at Evanwood Avenue and Lassalette Avenue at 5 p.m., the driver refused to comply with commands to exit and reached for a bag placed on the floorboard. Fearing a gun was in the bag, the deputy grabbed the driver’s arm, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said. The driver bit the deputy on the hand and fled the scene, setting off a brief pursuit that ended when the driver struck an occupied vehicle at Willow Avenue and Fairgrove Avenue, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said. The suspect vehicle also struck a wall. “The Los Angeles County Fire Department transported the suspect to a nearby hospital for a medical evaluation and clearance for booking. A firearm was recovered inside the bag the suspect was reaching for,” the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
The female driver in the vehicle struck by the suspect was hospitalized with minor injuries. The deputy was also treated for his injuries. The suspect’s name was not released. The stabbing unfolded in the area of Amar Road and Sunset Avenue around 8:53 p.m. January 2. Deputies arrived to the scene of the stabbing and while the suspect was being detained, he allegedly stabbed himself in the chest, according to Sgt. Macias of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. “It was a domestic conflict between boyfriend and boyfriend,” Macias told SGV CityWatch.
The suspect was transported in critical condition. The severity of the wound to the victim was not immediately known. “The victim and the suspect in the stabbing are going to live,” Macias told SGV CityWatch. |
