CityWatch Editor LOS ANGELES - The name of the employee of a Mexican restaurant who died while at work has been officially identified. Condolences continue to pour in for 58-year-old Jose Fernandez Torres. He died from hypertensive cardiovascular disease and severe cardiomegaly, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. Fernandez died at Taco Del Rio, 445 S. Azusa Ave. First responders were called to the scene around 4:49 p.m. April 1. Within a day of his passing, news of Fernandez’s death spread on social media: “My prayers to the family and to his coworkers. He was an amazing man and we loved his food and the whole crew,” said Facebook user Jim Karras. “Jose passed where he was happiest 🙏 God Bless His Soul,” said Facebook user Jennifer Sanchez. “May he rest in peace. I knew him since 2002, he was always very attentive and loved by many in the neighborhood, whether at work or on the job he always greeted and asked how you were,” said Facebook user Geras Cas.
