Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA PUENTE – A beef between gangs likely led to a 5-year-old boy receiving a gunshot wound to his upper right thigh Wednesday.
A mother, father and their boy arrived home in the 14200 block of Nelson Avenue around 9:15 p.m. As the mother and father exited their vehicle, a dark-colored sedan pulled up. A man within the sedan yelled “Puente” and gunfire rang out, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The mother and father drove their wounded boy to an area hospital where he was treated for his wounds. The boy was later released, but he will require further medical care, the Information Bureau said. No suspect description was given.
