LA PUENTE - A 19-year-old woman and 18-year-old man were injured in a shooting after suspects opened fire Saturday night, a Sheriff’s lieutenant said.
The man was shot in the torso, the woman possibly received a graze wound on Banbridge Avenue near Roundabout Drive. Both were taken to an area trauma center for treatment, according to Lt. James Long of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The shooting occurred around 8:13 p.m. Suspects from two silver sedans began firing at the man and woman sitting in a white Dodge. The gunfire began south of Roundabout Drive and towards the dead end of Banbridge, Long said.
A very brief chase possibly unfolded during the gunfire, Long said.
Both silver sedans have driver-side damage. At least one vehicle was recorded in security camera being crashed into. Deputies found evidence that a 9-millimeter gun and either a .223 rifle or AR-15 were used, Long said. Deputies stated the man and woman injured Saturday are the two people shot at in the 700 block of Tonopah Avenue August 13. It is unclear if the shooters on Banbridge are the same suspects who opened fire on Tonopah, Long said. Suspect descriptions were unavailable. |
